BikeTiresDirect.com’s new location.(Photo: Mark Blackwelder) After a fire back in August completely gutted the Northeast Portland headquarters of BikeTiresDirect.com, Velotech Inc. is getting back on its feet. Velotech (which also runs WesternBikeworks.com) has leased a new, 20,000 square foot warehouse, office and retail space and they’ve planned a grand opening party for October 30th.

The Clever Cycles storefront on SE Hawthorne Blvd.(Photos © J. Maus) It’s been just over a year since Clever Cycles open their doors in Southeast Portland, and now they’ll be closing them. Co-owner Todd Fahrner says that a lack of business is not in the problem. In fact, it’s just the opposite.
BicyclingHub.com is an online bike apparel retailer based in Portland. Back in November, the company opened a retail store at the corner of Taylor and Water Avenues in Southeast Portland.
