Epic movies come and go, but hopefully movie-themed bike rides will be with us, always.
If you were wandering around Portland on Saturday, you might have witnessed a group of Mad Max aficionados cruising through their own private apocalypse, led (of course) by a guitarist in a cargo bike.
“As a first annual ride, we were pleased with the turnout,” said Sarah Goforth, one of the organizers.

Fun stuff. On the west side, we dress this way and add spears to our bikes just to avoid getting squeezed where the bike lane ends.
I was sad to miss this, looked like fun! If you were into this, check out this MAD MAX bike sculpture from Philadelphia’s Kinetic Sculpture Derby!

Every year Philadelphia Brewing Co makes a new sculpture over the same truck body they converted to be bicycle powered, go to the derby if you are ever in Philadelphia in May!
