South Waterfront event will focus on sustainable transport

The folks that manage Portland’s innovative South Waterfront neighborhood have planned a special transportation fair that will focus on sustainable ways to get around. Part of the event will be a panel discussion titled, Give Sustainable Transport the Green Light that will focus on getting around Portland without a car.

New bike/ped bridge over I-5 will connect to South Waterfront

The City of Portland is moving forward with their plans to build a new bike and pedestrian bridge over I-5 that will connect the Lair Hill neighborhood with the South Waterfront district near the Aerial Tram. One of the concepts drawn up for the new Gibbs Street bike/ped bridge.

South Waterfront plans ignore cyclists

PDOT and Portland Streetcar, Inc. are embarking on a major project in the South Waterfront district. This new area will be like another Pearl District; complete with a streetcar line, tons of retail shops, and high-density, super expensive condos. Sounds great right?
