Advocates push for e-bike task force bill as clock ticks on session
Big questions and big potential deserve a big task force.
Note: I'm currently on a family trip and not working normal hours. Email and message responses will be delayed and story and posting volumes here and on our social media accounts will not be at their usual levels until I return to Portland September 4th. Thanks for your patience and understanding. - Jonathan Maus, BikePortland Publisher and Editor
Big questions and big potential deserve a big task force.
A fight avoided means no one comes away empty.
They’re rushing to make changes and find support before the bill is voted on.
The bill would ban throttles for young riders and create a new traffic offense for unsafe riding.
There are more transportation-related bills than I expected for a short session.
The task force could add political heft and awareness to an often misunderstood realm of the transportation world.
