Good Sport Promotion, the local company behind the Worst Day of the Year Ride, the Cirque du Cycling, Portland Century, and many others, has a new ‘VIP’ program.
Good Sport’s Ayleen Crotty says it’s just another way to get folks motivated to get out and ride. “We have a lot of dedicated participants who ride our events all year long. We want to reward them for being so dedicated to cycling and riding bikes to support great causes,” she said via email today.
The main part of the VIP program is, of course, perks and discounts.
Just roll up to an event, flash your special VIP card at the registration booth, “and you’ll get the royal treatment,” says Crotty. “Free beer, special give-aways, iced coffee, etc.” VIPs can also step right to the front of the line when checking in for a ride. Discounts for events range from $5-10 off, and VIP members also get 25% off ride merchandise.
Crotty says the $40 per year VIP membership will also make you eligible for a slew of other special deals. Partnerships have already been inked for discounted entry into the upcoming Pedal Nation/Portland Bike Show and discounts on Gracie’s Wrench bike repair classes.
You can ask Ayleen about the program yourself at this weekend’s big BikeCraft event. If you sign up there, she’ll throw in a free pair of Sock Guy socks.
