LiveStrong Ride with Lance Armstrong

[He’ll be there in spirit.]

Portland’s “Living Room,” will be packed with cyclists on Wednesday. Pioneer Courthouse Square will be the venue for two big bike related events.

First up will be the City of Portland’s Bike to Work Day celebration. From 7:30 to 9:00 you can sample fine (and free) continental breakfast (must have your bike to eat!), and revel in the sunrise with other cool commuters. The BTA’s Executive Director Evan Manvel and Bike Gallery owner Jay Graves are both scheduled to speak.

Don’t forget to join one of six neighborhood rides leading into the Square. See more details here.

Then, from 12-2pm, the OHSU Cancer Institute will host their Livestrong Day Celebration. You can hear a speach by Lance’s Doctor, listen to live music by Big Bing Theory, register for the upcoming Livestrong Challenge (July 30th), or enter to win free stuff.

If you’re into Spinning, there will be a free Spin class offered by 24HR Fitness (RSVP to mdamis@24hrfitness.com).

NOTE: We love your comments and work hard to ensure they are productive, considerate, and welcoming of all perspectives. Disagreements are encouraged, but only if done with tact and respect. If you see a mean or inappropriate comment, please contact us and we'll take a look at it right away. Thank you — Jonathan

You’re cracking me up with that photo. And good to know about the Livestrong Celebration. Has there been any press about this, or am I living under a rock?

    Big Bang Theory, perhaps?

vj, I haven’t seen any press on the Livestrong Celebration. I just happened to run into the organizer downtown yesterday and she told me about it.

curt, I’m pretty sure it’s Big Bing. It says so on the flyer.
