For some people, the connection between bikes and sexuality starts and ends with 5,000 nude bodies at this Saturday’s World Naked Bike Ride.

For seven years, the man who created Bike Smut has been proving that those people aren’t thinking nearly big enough.

Next Wednesday, Portland-based porn pro and self-described bikesexual revolutionary Phil Sano — often known by his nom de guerre, “the Rev. Phil” — launches the latest edition of his globetrotting revue, the Porny Express, at the Clinton Street Theater. Its press materials promise a “variety of representations of human sexuality, entirely created by amateur bike pornographers from all over the world.”

Fresh off his “Bike Smut” world tour, filmmaker, nudity activist, and bike fun provocateur Phil Sano (a.k.a. “Reverend Phil”) is launching a new weekly show at the Clinton Street Theater.

Here’s more from Sano via a press release sent out this morning:

Bike Smut, the homegrown international touring film festival, is excited to announce a new series of programming at The Clinton Street Theater. While busy curating the sixth year of original bike-sexual content from cyclists and perverts the world over, Bike Smut will spend the month of May screening some of their favorite past submissions and films that have paved the way, provided inspiration or just made them get their bike shorts in a twist. More than just bike movies without the sex or pornography sans bike, Bike Smut’s programming promises to titillate anyone’s curiosity.

Portlander back on the road with bike porn

Bike Porn 3 trailer was released last night.
Watch it here-.

Portland’s bike porn provocateur “Reverend” Phil Sano is back on the road. Sano and his crew are on their 16 city “Chain Whip” tour showing Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound (note: trailer is NOT safe for work).

Sano’s collection of short films features bikes and their people doing everything imaginable to each other. And, as you might expect, the screenings are raising quite a few eyebrows.

If you’re still scratching your head, check this excerpt from an interview with Sano that ran Salt Lake City, Utah’s weekly newspaper last week. [Read more…]

This weekend is the 30th annual Seattle to Portland ride and around 10,000 people are expected to roll into town.

After over 200 miles (30 of them uphill) in the saddle, the riders will have a lot to be happy about when they arrive at Holladay Park near the Lloyd Center. There will be congratulatory hugs from family and friends, food, drinks, music, an expo area, and now — thanks to entrepreneurial bike fun provocateur “Reverend” Phil Sano — there will be bike porn.

Sano has spent the last three years touring the country with a varied collection of short films that celebrate bodies and bikes. His latest (the third set he has put together) is Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound. Sano says the six or so screenings so far gotten a “stellar reaction”. [Read more…]

Last night’s world premiere of Bike Porn 2: Bikexploitation was quite an affair.

The Clinton Street Theater was sold out (and then some) and the action outside was as hot as the movies inside.

Reverend Phil was in his element — even if he was a bit groggy from his unfortunate incident on Tuesday.

Check out some of the sights and sounds by watching my video below or browse the photo gallery (warning: some shots not safe for work)…

bike pornographer.

Portland’s famed film provocateur, Reverend Phil Sano (aka Revphil), is at it again.

On June 13th at the Clinton Street Theater, he’ll debut Bike Porn 2: bikexploitation. He just posted a preview which you can watch here (I would embed the video but…umm…I decided not to. Watch it and I think you’ll understand why (warning: not safe for work)).

It’s been just about one year since Revphil first steamed things up with his swanky, cycling-inspired cinematic soirees. After that raunchy debut, Revphil took his Bike Porn on the road and now bike lovers across North America will never look at their bikes quite the same way again. [Read more…]

Portland’s sultry cycling export spreads to East Coast

The Pornography of the Bicycle;
now available nationwide.

You’ve probably already heard of Portland’s Naked Bike Ride — an annual tradition that has grown in recent years to become one of the largest such rides in the world. But in addition to that (and several other, smaller naked rides that have cropped up recently), there’s another part of Portland’s sans-clothing cycling culture you might not be aware of yet — bike porn.

Yes, whether you approve or not, bicycle pornography has its fans. The man on top of the genre — the charismatic and quirky Phil ‘Reverend Phil” Sano — has embarked on another tour that will expose his distinct brand of bike love to audiences up and down the East Coast and across the country’s midsection.[Read more…]

Local filmmaker takes bike porn on the road

Jonathan Maus (Publisher/Editor) by on September 19th, 2007 at 2:01 pm

The Reverend Phil Sano is at it again, and surprise, it involves nakedness and bicycles; only this time, he’s taken it one step further.

You might be familiar with the term “bike porn” — it’s become a sort of slang for photos of gorgeous bikes — but trust me, this is something completely different.

After his Pornography of the Bicycle screened at the Clinton Street Theater in front of a shocked (yet appreciative) standing-room-only crowd during last Summer’s Pedalpalooza, he has decided to take his beguiling combination of sex and bikes on road.[Read more…]

Report: Pornography of the Bicycle

Jonathan Maus (Publisher/Editor) by on June 13th, 2007 at 6:04 pm

[This Pedalpalooza ride report is from Reverend Phil.]

Packed with porn! It was all over the streets and into the theater, a capactity showing of Pornography of the Bicycle.

Soon to be married, though not any less offensive Alberta Clown House astounded folks with their fashion foibles; Jaclyn Pryor gave some Love Courier service and Jasun Wurster inspired transparency in the office before the movies even started!
