State Transportation Funding Bill Public Hearing

The future of Oregon’s transportation system all comes down to a few days in Salem during a special session and this public hearing will kick it all off. The hearing will be based on the current version of the bill that lawmakers will debate when the special session begins August 29th. The bill is known as LC 2 (for “legislative concept” because it doesn’t have an official bill number yet).

Climate, Resilience, and Land Use Committee

A Portland City Council subcommittee

Subject matter: 

  • Zoning and other land use decisions; parks, urban forestry, and open space.
  • Climate change prevention and mitigation; community resilience.
  • Superfund cleanup.
  • The needs, programs, policies, and bureaus addressing zoning, environmental justice, and the use of land within the City.

Portland Bicycle Advisory Committee Meeting (PBOT)

The 20-member volunteer Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) meets monthly to review projects of interest to cyclists and discuss bike issues. The committee advises the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) as well as city council and other bureaus on all biking-related matters.

Meets on second Tuesday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Meetings are hybrid and held at the Portland Building and online via Zoom.

TransPort meeting

A subcommittee of TPAC (Metro’s Transportation Policy Alternatives Committee), TransPort is charged with advancing the Transportation System Management and Operations Plan, providing a forum for cooperative planning and deployment. TransPort coordinates investments made in technology and operations as well as prioritizes projects to receive TSMO program funds.

TransPort’s core membership comprises six agencies: ODOT, TriMet, Clackamas County, Multnomah County, Washington County and the City of Portland, represented by their lead transportation systems engineers. Attendance from other TPAC-member agencies is encouraged.

TransPort typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

Transportation System Plan Citizen Advisory Committee (PBOT)

PBOT is updating their all-important and all-powerful Transportation System Plan (TSP). This is the guiding document for transportation policymaking. This is the second meeting of their Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC).

From PBOT:

The Transportation System Plan (TSP) is the 20-year plan to guide transportation projects, programs, policies, and investments in Portland.

The 2045 TSP Community Advisory Committee advises the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) director and staff on key tasks, policies, and outcomes, while offering insights into community values and investment priorities throughout all phases of the TSP workplan.

Meeting takes place in room 108 of the Portland Building (1120 SW 5th Ave) and online.

Portland Freight Advisory Committee Meeting (PBOT)

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) Freight Advisory Committee, formed February 2003, serves as an advisory group to the Portland Bureau of Transportation and City Council on issues related to freight mobility. Includes community member volunteers and public agency representatives at the local, state, and federal level.

Meets on the first Thursday of each month from 8:30 to 10:30. Hybrid meetings are held at Portland Building and online via Zoom.

BPS Staff will present on their Economic Opportunities Analysis designed to analyze and forecast growth in Portland’s industrial districts, then designate an adequate 20-year supply of developable land.

Week Without Driving Community Event

This is a local event being organized as part of the national Week Without Driving campaign.

“This is your chance to directly engage with decision-makers and advocate for the changes you want to see.”
