A Tour of Community-Led and Climate Investments
Join us for a walk & bus tour highlighting community-led climate projects funded by the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund
This in-person tour showcases how local organizations and public agencies are working together to deliver climate resilience, workforce development, clean energy, and infrastructure improvements along 82nd Avenue. You’ll learn how these investments are rooted in equity and community vision.

Tour Highlights
- Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO): Let’s kick off at APANO to showcase their role in advancing climate justice through PCEF, including a community solar project, installing energy efficient cooling/heating units from the Cooling Portland program, and highlighting energy-efficient affordable housing projects like The Jade, Canton Grill, and Legin Commons.
- Portland Community College (PCC) Join staff from PCC to discuss a PCEF grant–funded project to expand access to trades education, create new certifications in Building Energy Management and EV Maintenance, in partnership with the City of Portland. We will also meet with staff from TriMet to learn more about a $55.5M PCEF investment to transform the 82nd Ave bus line with zero-emission infrastructure, safety improvements, and a workforce development program for corridor residents.
- African Youth & Community Organization (AYCO): Explore how clean energy investments are transforming small commercial buildings with solar, battery storage, and cooling infrastructure.
- Street Trees & Sidewalks – 82nd & Mill: Learn how the Portland Bureau of Transportation and PCEF investments in sidewalk safety and tree canopy are improving health and livability along the corridor.
- Vestal Elementary School: Discover how students and families are shaping greener campuses and safer school commutes through community organizations: Depave and Oregon Walks.
- Oregon Bird Alliance & Community Solar Collaboration: Visit a future green infrastructure and solar energy hub on a former brownfield, where equity and environmental restoration meet.
- McDaniel High School & Word is Bond: Hear directly from youth leaders about their experience navigating the intersecting neighborhoods and their vision for the corridor.
