Some very super big news from BikePortland Headquarters… The sixth annual BikeCraft holiday gift bazaar is set for December 4th and 5th and our new venue this year is the Portland Design Works Mothership at 15 NE Hancock.
We’re really excited about this year’s event. We’ve got a brand new venue (a new space just off N. Williams bikeway and one block north of Broadway that was formerly the Department of Skateboarding skatepark), we’re open for business two full days, and we’ve got some very talented new artisans to share with you.
Since that first magical night back in 2005, BikeCraft has enjoyed amazing support from the community. It’s all about putting the spirit of the holidays, local artisans, handmade bike items, and a love of bikes all together and then just stepping back and letting amazing happen. Last year was our best BikeCraft ever with 50 vendors sharing everything from bamboo water bottle cages to handcrafted leather u-lock holsters.
Also last year we were serenaded with bikey carols by the BTA Chorale and they’ll be back again this time (it’s a treat, trust me!). We also had some fantastic harp music played by Halley the Harper. If you’d like to share your music with us and be part of this event, please get in touch.
To help streamline things, we’ve got an online signup form this year that can be used by vendors, buskers, volunteers, and sponsors. Check it out here.
Stay tuned for profiles of vendors you’ll see at this year’s show and more updates as we have them. For now, check the slideshow from last year’s event to get a taste of what’s in store:
