Do you live, work, commute through, or have an interest in outer Southeast Portland?
Join us tonight for this month’s BikePortland Get Together in Powellhurst (details below) to meet up with other folks and talk about bike issues specific to the area.
We want to talk to you — what are the bike issues that make you giddy, or drive you crazy, in outer Southeast Portland?
Some topics that might come up include the Bicycle Master Plan update (an open house is coming to outer East on May 6th), mountain biking in Powell Butte, the city’s bike boulevard plans (any in your neighborhood?), how the new Green Line MAX might impact your commute, and more.
Come to learn, meet, socialize, and foment ideas in an informal setting. See you there!

Just confirmed — I will be there, on my Radish!
Is there a time-out corner in the Rumpus Room?
Um…
I thought the Rumpus Room was a strip club. Was I mistaken?
Thanks to everyone who joined us! We’ll have a report up soon.
And, for the record, the Rumpus Room is a really friendly bar with big booths, pool, shuffleboard, and an awesome railing out front that’s perfect for parking a bunch of bikes.
Not only is the Rumpus Room NOT a strip club (though I will admit, the name tends to make one think so) it’s a friendly place and everything that Elly said is spot on. Plus, I’ve been to several “events” there from theme parties, to birthday parties, to fundraisers. They also have a facebook account with loads of pictures. http://facebook.com/portlandrumpusroom
Friday and Saturday nights they have Karaoke and the customers are in all age groups, starting at 21 and going up from there. (which surprised me as I thought it would be a bunch of old-timers)It’s a nightclub atmosphere and they know how to Party.
Saturday afternoons they have shuffleboard tournaments. An older crowd, but recently, I’ve seen some younger people joining in.
I now go in pretty regularly and always have a good experience.
