West Linn Arch Bridge will close this weekend

This just in from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT): The West Linn Arch Bridge (OR 43) will be closed to all traffic (including bikes and peds) this weekend (12/1 – 12/2). Full details and detour information in the statement below:

    TRAFFIC ADVISORY

    Traffic on OR 43: Oregon City – West Linn Arch Bridge to be rerouted for weekend inspection work on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2, 2007

    Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) maintenance crews will close the OR 43: Oregon City – West Linn Bridge Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, to inspect the structure in advance of a full renovation project scheduled for 2009. The closure will be in place daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Signed detours will be in place.

    Bike/Ped access during the closure
    Bicyclists and pedestrians will be rerouted via TriMet bus #35-Macadam during the closure. The bus will detour via the I-205 bridge and will operate as a shuttle for bicyclists and pedestrians while the bridge is closed. More information on the schedule is available by calling TriMet at: 503.238.RIDE (7433) or on the internet at www.trimet.org. Please expect delays due to the detour and allow additional time for your trip.

    Variable message signs will warn of the closure and direct motorists to the detour routes. TriMet will have temporary signage directing bicyclists and pedestrians to the nearest bus stop and providing schedule information.
