Showers Pass, designers of popular rain-gear, are now based in Southeast Portland (they were previously in the Southwest Hills area). I have been meaning to do a story on them, but I noticed Bicycle Retailer & Industry News Magazine had a story on them today:
Showers Pass Moves, Boosts Management
PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN) — Showers Pass, known for its wind and waterproof cycling garments, recently consolidated product development and warehousing under one roof. The company has moved into a 6,000-square-foot building just outside of downtown Portland…
This fall it will launch a new hybrid collection of urban-meets-technical wear. The line, which has been in development for over a year, was previewed during an event to commemorate the opening of the new digs, June 13…
Ranson said the line targets average commuters who want to ride to work and walk straight into the office. “We are targeting folks who drive Suburbans who want to look respectable in the office. We think that presents a tremendous opportunity,”” he said.

This quote:
“We are targeting folks who drive Suburbans who want to look respectable in the office..."
seems to imply that folks driving Suburbans feel that they look less than respectable once they walk into the office.
Damn liberal media.

CORRECTION:
It seems we've been mis-quoted here. What should have been conveyed:
"With our new urban-hybrid collection folks can commute by bike and walk into the office looking just as respectable as the guys that drove their Suburbans."
