The Oregon Bicycle Racing Association calendar took racers to The Dalles this past weekend for the Gorge Roubaix. Event promoters offered two days of racing (and one non-competitive “gravel grinder” ride) along some of the most beautiful roads in the state.

In keeping with tradition the routes both days had plenty of miles on unpaved dirt and gravel roads. On Saturday the course headed west of The Dalles along the Columbia River Gorge and up the famous Rowena Loops, then into Mosier before looping back. Then on Sunday racers headed into the hilly gravel farm roads east of town. The race drew a large field of competitors. Saturday’s action included 270 competitors including more than 80 in the Men’s Category 4/5 race and 51 people who competed in the two women’s categories.

We partnered with Leonard Johnson from Hot Foot Photo to bring you a few images from the action:

Oregon Rally Group fielded three cars for the lead cars; it was a lot of fun, and us drivers were very impressed with the riders and their awesome skills!

A truely incredible video! I have ridden those roads many times although not the rally. My wife never has been able to see what I see in cycling. The trip down from Crown point was exquisite. She agreed that it was fantastic!
