The weather is mighty fine right now across the Portland metro area, and it’s slated to get even warmer and nicer through the weekend. Do you plan to get out there and ride?

I’ll start it off… I’m headed to Clackamas County Fairgrounds to camp tonight. Then in the morning it’s up early to photograph the Pioneer Century. Looking forward to riding the road bike again and stretching my legs a bit. Hopefully I get some great photos since the folks that put on the ride were kind enough to hire me to shoot them!
I saw you taking photos yesterday, will you be putting them up on Flickr? I’d love to see them!
I’m going to be riding the Pioneer Century, at least the 55 mile loop. We’ll see if I feel like doing the additional 45. The weather should be FANTASTIC.
Please don’t photograph me talking on my cellphone while wobbling all over, or zipping around without hands and post it here.
Coming from Portland, I’d ride the max to the beaverton transit center, then wes to the wilsonville transit center, then east on boeckman to ride the ferry over to canby. Ferry is free!
Was just over in Canby and saw only a few campers as of 6 pm.
At 2PM our huge garage sale ends, and we plan to have a group ride. Peninsula Park, Albina St @ Holman. Saturday. Lots of kids.
I’m going to Hood River to volunteer for the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic criterium. Should be a blast with the weather being so agreeable.
Short road ride on Saturday, hill repeats on Tabor on Sunday. I commute in any weather, but I hate road riding in the rain, so I’m pretty ready for this weather.
Cycle Wild trip to Milo McIver State Park! Riding from Portland to Gresham, then south to Estacada.
Johnathan:
It looks like you got some scratches or something on your camera lens. The streaking in the upper left hand corner look suspicious.
Looks like water being sprayed to me.
It’s a sprinkler! Looks like a fun time to me.
Sauvie Island with two friends first thing tomorrow morning. We like to take the road that goes up the Columbia River side until the pavement runs out and then back to the parking lot. Planning 30 miles. And it’s about time we had some decent weather!!
I’m going to be hangin’ up some Pedalpalooza posters!
Great!! Save some for the couv.
BIke polo tonight, then bike polo Sat.
Bike Polo Sunday, then off to the Mustache Ride Sunday afternoon. (It’s a benefit folks)
Riding Black Rock Monday.
Then Trail riding/ building on the farm in Rickreal Monday afternoon through at least Thursday.
(means we can go to Black Rock at least two more times if needed)
Leading a ride from Banks to Vernonia, it’s a day trip to Vernonia, Provided by Portland Bicycle Tours, Farmers market, museum, food and fun. Have room for a couple of more people in the van. Interested? It’s a freebie. (bring money for lunch)

I went with Jeff on this. Super fun. Vernonia’s… actually kind of cool! And the trail is just perfect.
Spending another day in Eugene to get a new front tire, then riding out to Cougar Reservoir and soaking in the hot springs! Y’all won’t be hearing from me for a few days, while I ride over the Cascades to Sisters. Have a great weekend everyone!
Building with cob for the VBC at 8th & Emerson. I had to go, they need some more hands. Just laying the cob now.
Did the sustainable garden tour today (Saturday) by bike. Saw many gardens on the way in people’s yards that were sustainable but not on the tour. I love this town! Portland looked beautiful today and there were a lot of bikes on the road, at the outdoor cafes, etc. All I can say is that it was about time for some perfect weather on a weekend!
Helping fine neighbors at Sellwood Cycle Repair move to their fantastic new shop on SE 13th & Miller! Bike train of longtime shop friends and family kept the inventory moving swiftly from the old to the new space. Huge congratulations to Erik, Rhonda, Pace, Jeremiah, and ALL the fine folks of one of The Greatest bike shops in The World! Everyone should be sure to visit the new place when it opens (next week).
If you don’t have plans today come out for the Mustache Ride. It benefits James Adamson who broke his hip in a crash at PIR and can’t work. Meet up at the B-Side around 2:30. Entry is $5-50 with all the money going to James. 21+ since all stops will be bars where you get to play pinball for points. We’ve got tons of prizes!

Very sober weekend for our Meetup, NW Butts on Bikes. One of our own crashed hard on
Haines Road, off Larch Mtn. and has a very serious head injury. It was a beautiful ride until then. We don’t know what happened. The road was clear, straight and dry and he went over the bars. Be careful out there, folks and remember to descend in the drops, not the tops. (I don’t know if that’s what happened to Gary, though.)
