Local livable streets activist Steve Bozzone has just published a new short video titled, Transforming Our Streets: Parklets in Portland. The film chronicles the efforts of Re-thinking the Right of Way, a fledgling local group working to establish permanent “PedPlazas” in parking spaces throughout the city (we reported on their efforts back in August).
You can stay in touch with Steve’s insights, projects, and documentation of livable streets issues via Twitter.
Thanks for reading.

Way to go, ReTROW and Steve B! This video made my day.
I love the idea. Keep up the great work.
Yea Rebecca!
Another reason to avoid N.Mississippi. It’s a congested mad house no matter what your mode of transportation.
should have made it into a truck zone so we don’t have to try and get around the trucks stoped in the middle of the road
Excellent, we need a lot more of this kind of thinking.
The amount of PUBLIC space we continue to give over to exclusive car use is astounding and ludicrous.
Thanks Rebecca and crew!
Great work, Rebecca/ReTROW, and great video, Steve.
I stumbled upon the Parklet that day while shopping at The Rebuilding Center — it looked great and worked great — we sat in a church pew for a couple minutes, protected from the rain by a canopy.
It was a great vibe to be on the street, protected, sitting, and chilling.
