Artcrank poster show coming to Portland in October

An event that bills itself as “A poster party for bike people” is set to make its Portland debut on October 1st. Artcrank began in Minneapolis in 2007 and has since expanded to other cities.

The event is an exhibit of bike-inspired poster art from local artists. The posters accepted into each show — which is free to attend — are then made available for sale for $30 each. Artcrank will donate $5 from the sale of each poster to local non-profit Bikes to Rwanda.

The Portland show will take place at The Cleaners at the Ace Hotel (403 SW 10th Ave) and it is part of the six-week bike event extravaganza, Oregon Manifest.

Artcrank organizer Charles Youel says he’s looking for about 25-30 local artists and designers. Artists have until September 12th to be considered for the show. More details in a call for entries published here.
