– Watch video below-
Southeast Portland bike builder Tony Pereira of Pereira Cycles is featured in a television and billboard ad campaign for Northwest Community Credit Union.
The ad features Tony working in his shop and some staged cyclocross action shots with Tony and his Team Beer teammates near the Alpenrose Velodrome in Portland’s west hills. According to the agency that produced the campaign, the TV ads will run on NBC-TV (KMTR) in Eugene, Bend, and Medford. Billboards featuring Pereira are also in the works in those cities.
Here’s my favorite line in the 30-second spot:
“Everything Tony builds is one of a kind. Like snowflakes. Torch-welded, metal, snowflakes. His credit union is unique too…”
And here’s the ad:
Pereira isn’t the first member of Portland’s bike industry to get the attention of corporate America. Last summer, Natalie Ramsland of Sweetpea Bicycles was featured in a series of ads from Hewlett Packard, cycling cap maker Shaun Deller has been featured in a video for Nau apparel (read about both of those ad campaigns here), and Sacha White of Vanilla Bicycles has been featured in an ad campaign by Swedish clothing company Dunderdon.
