Bike racks bustle on first day of school

I took my 5 1/2 year-old daughter to school this morning and was overjoyed to see the bike racks over flowing…

Not enough space for all the bikes at Trillium Charter School in North Portland.

Are you biking your kids to school this year? Have you noticed more family bike traffic than usual? Is the bike parking at your kid’s school adequate?

Yes! There are lots of families biking to Beverly Cleary K-8 which is on two campuses about 1/4 mile apart. This is at Grant Park, NE 33rd, formerly Fernwood middle school. Anyway we have ton of bike usage but no COVERED bike parking…..will all these families quit when it starts raining? Is there an organization that can help our PTA find out about covered bike parking for a school site? Has pps supplied any covered parking anywhere?
