The fifth annual Bunny on a Bike Ride has become a welcome (and fun!) tradition for hundreds of Portland cyclists.
This Sunday, don’t be surprised to see rabbit ears sticking out of helmets all over Portland. Yep, it’s time once again for the Bunny on a Bike Ride!
Now in its fifth year, participation in the ride has multiplied (like bunnies tend to do) and there’s sure to be a large turnout. Organizer Carye Bye will do something new this year: She has planned a “Great Bunny Convergence” that will attract bunnies on bikes from all five corners of the city.
Once all the bunnies have gathered at locations in North, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest Portland, they’ll meet for a potluck picnic and a “play-date in the park” at the geographical center of Portland (which Bye is keeping secret until Sunday).
In addition to the ride, Bye has planned a bonus Daytime Bunny Bomb (a downhill ride inspired by Zoobomb) that will at the Zoo MAX station at 1:00 and will then connect with the Southwest bunnies at 2:00.
I’ve done this ride three of the past four years and its always a hit with my entire family (last year I even brought my mom along). Make your plans now and I’ll see you out there!
Details below and on the official ride website.

I am sooo excited for this! (seriously…I made GIANT fluffy bunny ears and a tail) WahooooO!
Thank you Carye!
That explains it! I saw a bunny heading south on the springwater trail as I biked home ca. 6:30pm – made my day. 🙂
