Bike planning firm is movin’ on up

A visit to Alta Planning

Noted bike and pedestrian planning firm Alta Planning and Design has bought a new building and plans to move its headquarters.

The building is located at 711-713 SE Grand Ave on Portland’s east side (right next to River City Bicycles!).

The firm, which has 14 employees and was recently featured in a NY Times article, is headed by former PDOT bike coordinator Mia Birk.

We are very excited about this move. It will be a great space. The building has an interesting and colorful history, which will be commemorated with a National Register of Historic Places listing (we\’ll be right next door to the Architectural Heritage Center).

Alta has 14 staff in Portland, and 30 total.

Look for an open house in the Spring??
