The BTA has grown out of their downtown office and they’re hunting for new office space. I’m posting this to the community in case anyone has a tip that might help them find a new space. We need them working on bike issues…not worrying about finding a new office!
Here’s the word from Executive Director Evan Manvel.
“We’re looking for 1700-2000 square feet, accessible to downtown, as we have many meetings with City Hall and PDOT. We have been at our current location for five years, and have more than doubled in size since we moved here (4 people to 10).
We’re hoping to have good bike parking, a shower, a kitchenette, a good meeting room, and some private offices. Ideally, we’d be ground floor, but we’re considering office space as well. There are lots of different ideas floating out there, including partnering with bike parking, bike shops, coffee shops, condos, etc., or having a big Go By Bike sign outside, a la the Go by Train and Go by Streetcar signs.”

The recently vacated Wild Oats on SE Division? The building is owned by the owner of New Seasons a few blocks away and in the midst of Portland’s best neighborhood. (I live near there 🙂
