Just got word that Shannon Skerritt – Bike Gallery employee and Vanilla Bicycles sponsored cyclocross racer – has rode to victory in the 30-35 Masters race at Cyclocross Nationals!
OBRA’s Candi Murray says Shannon is the first-ever Oregonian to win a cyclocross national championship. (see this comment)
According to reports, conditions were treacherous. Rain, sleet, snow, white-out conditions, so bad that they’ve postponed the rest of the day’s races due to 50 mph winds.
Way to go Shannon! We’ll be waiting for the full scoop on your blog.

Wasn’t Larry Malone from Oregon, back in the 70’s? I also see David Auker in there during the mid-80’s masters. Was he living in OR at the time?

Shannon has some of the hottest legs around!
I believe that Candi meant that Shannon is the first Oregonian to win a CX Nationals title this year (which is an awesome feat by itself).
In 2002, Dean Lucas (riding for Bike Gallery back then) took first in the Master Men 45-49 category.
