How I feel about comments (in comic form)

(Drawing by Sarah Mirk)

Portland Mercury reporter Sarah Mirk drew this sketch of me (and uploaded it via Twitter) during a panel discussion on Saturday at the 2011 Digital Journal Conference. I was on a panel about blogging and the topic of comments came up several times.

And yes, it’s true. I respect both the comments and the people who leave them. Thanks to everyone who keeps the comments interesting and productive… And thanks Sarah for the cool drawing.

NOTE: At BikePortland, we love your comments. We love them so much that we devote many hours every week to read them and make sure they are productive, inclusive, and supportive. That doesn't mean you can't disagree with someone. It means you must do it with tact and respect. If you see an inconsiderate or inappropriate comment, please contact us and we'll take a look at it right away. Thank you — Jonathan and Michael

Bike Portland comments are some of the best I’ve seen. People contribute real information and well thought out discussions.

you’re welcome! and I agree with gumby, there’s usually some great content in the comments that help enhance the article or at least give a different perspective…
