Transportation Sec. Peters apologizes for bike funding comment

During this morning’s opening remarks, the executive director of Bikes Belong, Tim Blumenthal, reported that U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters apologized to him for disparaging remarks she made about bike funding.

Final thoughts and themes on the National Bike Summit

Crowds fill a party held in a regal Senate Office Building. The National Bike Summit may be over, but the work has just begun. Hundreds of advocates from around the country (430 to be exact) are now more energized, educated, and empowered than ever before to bring bikes into the mainstream consciousness of America.
