It’s prime bike adventure season. Whether you’ve been itching to explore your neighborhood or the great state of Oregon, now is the time to do it.

There’s a nice selection of rides and events this week. Check out the full menu below…

The Weekend Event Guide is sponsored by Abus Bike Locks. Thanks Abus!

Friday, July 7th

Faraday in Portland – 5:00 pm at Hopworks BikeBar (3947 N Williams Ave)
When it debuted at Oregon Manifest in 2011 I called it “the best e-bike ever.” The Faraday has come a long way since then and the company is returning to Portland for a demo session and meet-up. Come chat with CEO Adam Vollmer, enjoy a free beer, grab some swag, and demo one of their bikes for yourself. More info here.

Friday Evening Road Ride – 7:00 pm at Western Bikeworks (1015 NW 17th)
Decompress from the week on this chill group ride led by the capable folks at Western Bikeworks in the Pearl. More info here.

Saturday, July 8th

*FEATURED* The Weekender by Cycle Oregon – All weekend at Linfield College in McMinnville
All the legendary support and ambience of Cycle Oregon packed into two days of amazing rides and memories. Three routes to choose from each day through varied (paved) terrain around McMinnville. Base camp is at the grassy and gorgeous Linfield College campus. More info here.

Mt. Hood Gravel Grinder – Starts at Hutson Museum and Park in Hood River
Choose from three different routes and explore some of the best roads anywhere on this mixed terrain adventure. The 86-mile long route will circumnavigate Mt. Hood. More info here.

Holladay Park Summer Bike Ride – 10:00 am in Holladay Park
Join the folks from Go Lloyd — a group that promotes biking, walking, and transit in the Lloyd District — for a fun and relaxed urban exploration. More info here.

Sunday, July 9th

Larch Mountain Hillclimb – 8:00 am at Corbett High School
Feeling strong, or just looking for an epic challenge? Roll out to Corbett and test your fitness on this 16-mile, 3,800 foot elevation gain race against the clock. More info here.

The Sauvie Shootout – 9:00 am at Ovation Coffee (941 NW Overton)
Weekly training ride that brings out some of the fastest — and soon-to-be faster — riders in Portland. More info here.

Zoobomb – 8:30 pm at The Pyle (SW 13th and Burnside)
These warm and long summer nights are perfect to get up on “the hill” and partake in a grand Portland tradition unlike any other. More info here.

Did we miss anything? If so, give it a shout out in the comments. And have a great weekend!

I’ll be leading the Sunset/Moonrise Ride from P’s and Q’s at 7:30 PM on Sunday! Full deets here:

Looks like I’ll never do another organized cycling event. Larch Mountain time trial? I’d rather hit myself in the head with a 2×4.

Cycle Oregon will be loving those low traffic roads around McMinnville? Oh there aren’t any?
