More of this please! Swing by The Lumberyard Friday night to help raise money for great new trails to ride at Gateway Green!

In light of what appears to be the certainty of wind and rain we’ve lined up several great indoor events and great mud events. Take your pick and dress accordingly. I’ll be using the deluge as the catalyst to buy some new rain pants. It’s been past time for way too long.

Friday, October 14th

Friends of Gateway Green Dirt Lab Fundraiser – 5:00pm The Lumberyard (2700 NE 82nd)
Gateway Green is a 25 acre park development in East Portland. The incorporated Dirt Lab will add singletrack trails, a pump track, and the potential for lots more. The Lab’s crowdfunding campaign is 2 days from closing and 90% funded. If you want to help, stop by the Lumberyard where a percentage of admission and food sales will be donated. Learn more here.

BTA Monthly Women’s Happy Hour – 5:00pm Ankeny Tap & Table (2724 SE Ankeny)
Head to Ankeny Tap & Table for the BTA’s monthly meetup for women, female-identifying, trans, and gender-nonconforming people interested in cycling. Get there before 6pm for happy hour pricing. Learn more here.

Norther Cycles/PCC Bike Shed Swap Meet – 11:00am PCC Cascade Campus (705 N. Killingsworth St.)

Explore Lloyd Scavenger Hunt – 3:00pm at Hassalo on Eighth (just north of 7th Avenue MAX station)
Part of the Walktober festival, this scavenger hunt will introduce you to cool spots in the Lloyd District and give you the chance to win great prizes while you’re at it. Happy hour afterwards is optional but recommended! Learn more here.

Cross Crusade Race #3 – All day in Cascade Locks
All this rain should make for an epic competition. This is the third stop in the Crusade series and if last year is any indication you can expect a course full of surprises. Learn more here.

Cross Crusade XC – 4:30pm Cascade Locks
Cross Crusade’s newest event is a cross-country style foot race on the bike course. Winners get prize gear from adidas and Cyclocross Crusade call up points. Learn more here.

“Bus 75: Hidden Portland” Opening Photo Reception – 2:00pm Concordia University (2800 NE Liberty Street)
