Wednesday Video Roundup: Sagan, Terry, Brits

Our first video is a fantastic bio of Georgina Terry, avid cyclist, fabled bike builder, and owner of the Terry Bicycles brand. I have a Terry seat and am jealous their apparel isn’t meant for me- they don’t “shrink and pink” things. For an example of how thoughtful and women-oriented they are, look at their chamois guide and fit guide. Anyhow, the video- and pay attention to Georgina walking down a hallway just past the five minute mark.

Next, it’s time for some Peter Sagan! He and road freestylist Vittorio Brumotti (featured in my posts in the past) ride through the offices of Sportful, an Italian cycling clothing maker. About 30 seconds in the two of them play soccer on their bikes and generally horse around.

It looks like Los Angeles is getting a lifestyle shop called The Wheelhouse, which should be like our Velo Cult. Russ and Laura from Path Less Pedaled put up a video about it. Unfortunately their space isn’t built out yet even though their site says “Fall 2015”..

GCN (a great British video channel) has a nice “how to cycle in in the rain”. They can’t spell “tire” and ride on the wrong side of the road, but it’s still great advice:

While we’re on the subject of crazy Brits, elite track cyclist Chris Hoy and a team pranked some London commuters. The video gets going about 30 seconds in. We need more cowbell for our commuters.

This video isn’t easily embeddable, but KGW/Inside Edition set up a bait bike and it was quickly stolen. Unsurprisingly, they (with the police) tracked the bike to an encampment at what appears to be under I-5 near where Jonathan’s bike was found a while back. Go watch the video. Note the bike was already “flipped” from a thief to another party.

Honorable mentions: Chris King talking about bikes, good food, and good health in Japan, a full-length documentary on crazy German fixie riders going from Budapest to Istanbul, the super-dirty Hilly Billy Roubaix race from the race directors’ perspective, mountain/trick unicyclists doing what they do, River City’s cross video of the week, and GCN’s weekly show has a nice tribute to Paris for cyclists.

Inclusion criteria: If I’ve missed something, post it in the comments! I’m trying to only include videos published in the last week or so. Note if there’s a specific point in a long video that is worth highlighting. Also note if there is colorful language. When it gets to spring, I will delay videos containing pro racing spoilers.
