Welcome to the weekly video roundup! There were some interesting videos this week, but I felt like none were feature-worthy. So I’m going back to the vault. This is 1976’s “A Sunday in Hell”. It shows 100 minutes on the Paris-Roubaix race including Eddy Merckx. Enjoy. I’m watching it again as I’m posting this. (also: this race is alluded to below- +3 internet points for the first person to spot it)
Welcome to this week’s roundup! I went bike camping over the long weekend, rolling 165 miles in three days on a 40+ year old bike. I also managed to review 45 videos for the roundup. We start with this Streetfilms video from Santa Monica, which is a strange place. In some ways it is isolated from the rest of Los Angeles, but it’s also full of tourists and celebrities. The Third Street Promenade has two different crowds: during the day it is mostly office workers, and in the evening it’s people out for entertainment. A light rail line was just extended there, which quickly led to classism. Look at those buffered bike lanes! Also note their bikeshare uses the same system as Biketown.
Welcome to this week’s roundup! I’ve been travelling and otherwise busy the last few weeks, it’s nice to catch up on all the cycling videos. I watched 103 vids this week. We’re starting off with a local video, documentation of the Better Block Broadway project from TransitSleuth. There’s one colorful rant in the middle. There are more vids from him below.
Welcome to this week’s roundup! I’ve reviewed 70 videos this week so I can share the best. Today’s first video (above) combines the beauty and history of Italy with some great road bike trials riding. Brunotti is super-talented. The “reverse front manual” is especially cool. (it’s from Giro, but there are no spoilers)
Welcome to this week’s roundup! I’ve reviewed 84 videos this week, in addition to attending Filmed By Bike. Did you go? There were some great videos. I’m starting the week with the film that won top marks at the festival, taken by a Slovokian filmmaking duo. It’s very artistic, which is pleasing.
Welcome to this week’s roundup! Let’s start with a great success- New Yorkers are happy that the protected Pulaski Bridge Bike Path is open (see it on a map). It was done by reclaiming a lane from cars. The video above, from Streetfilms, shows the path and reactions to it.

Welcome to this week’s roundup! Our first video (above) shows current research into reusing front derailleurs now that the 1X systems are gaining in popularity. What’s your favorite reuse of this component? [Read more…]
Welcome to this week’s roundup! Our first video (above) is a great 10-minute trailer about the Tall Bike Tour and fringe society. It’s somehow related to The Winking Circle (artsy straightedgers?) near Toronto. In any case, the trailer is really interesting even as a standalone piece.
Welcome to this week’s roundup! I had over 80 videos in my queue to watch and share this week. There aren’t 80 videos below, but it’s certainly a bumper crop for the Wednesday Video Roundup. Here’s a short snippet of rider/messenger Chas Christiansen riding a proper fixie on the streets. I’m not sure what is scarier- climbing the hills or leg-braking down them. [Read more…]
