I don’t usually showcase an artist’s work unless they’re from the Portland area; but in the case of Mike Joos, I thought I’d make an exception. I first heard about his work via local cap maker Caroline Paquette and I had so much fun looking through his Etsy store I just had to share it here on the front page.
When I asked Mike what inspired him to do this series, he replied, “My interest in biking and my desires to be seen as witty and clever.” Well, they’re certainly clever, that’s for sure.
Mike, 31, hails from Frederick, Maryland. When he’s not drawing, his life is full of bikes. “I ride quite a bit, I run errands on my bike and race mountain bikes.” Mike is on the Scott Bicycles regional MTB team (Mid-Atlantic) and he shares his racing and riding adventures on his blog.
Here are a few more of my favorites…

These make my day every time I look at them. Thanks for spreading the love!
Love Boba Fett’s setup.
Should be a 1960s hippie pedaling around on the dream catchers.
That cop w/donuts is funny! Now, can I somehow get a costume to pull that off for real. (Now that I think about it… I should try to do a Homer Simpson version)
That cop’s belt looks like your handlebars. 😉
Homer’s wheels would be “D’oh”-nuts.
Needs one of Captain America with two shields as wheels
Love Benjamin Franklin on the ‘bone shaker’ or whatever that is!
