Sunday Parkways 2011 continues its rolling tour this Sunday with a 6.2 mile carfree jaunt through Southeast Portland.
The route (closed to cars from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm) will connect three parks (Laurelhurst, Colonel Summers and Ivon) and it will take you right by the Hawthorne Street Fair. While on SE Clinton, remember to take a gander at the new artistic, bike-boulevard flair.
Check the official map and learn more about all the activities, food, and vendors planned along the course at PortlandSundayParkways.org.
If you need to rent a bike for Sunday Parkways, Pedal Bike Tours will be located at Laurelhurst Park and Portland Bike Tours will be located at Col. Summers Park.

this is one of my favorites of the season since I live close-by but I’ll be in classes and will have to miss it… ):
I’m sure the event will not be the same without you. Or as Celion Dion sang…”my heart will go on…”
Better not be any misbehaving at my intersection!
…or you’ll troll them mercilessly?
Suffice it to say I run a very efficient and safe corner.
Thank you for that! 🙂
I’ll have a great view from my porch!
This is gonna be a blast. See you all tomorrow!
Any word whether Bixi will be at Laurelhurst Park again this year (they’ve been there the last 2 years) with a one-station bike share demonstration?
w00t w00t. We had so much fun! Thank goodness for all the water hoses set up to cool us down. Me and my girl made it down there and back from Vancouver on beach cruisers. We are tan and dog tired! Time for beer! Yippie!
very nice ride today , police at most intersections..very safe . perfect weather, good course I dont know the official count yet , but wouldnt be surprised at 5,000 + riders
While I’m pretty sure it wasn’t 34,000 I would assume a lot more than 5,000. I guess we’ll see. Weather was perfect. Some interesting bikes to ogle. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.
I had a great ride – better than last year ! Loved the street music & the different bikes on the route !
The neighborhoods were great.
