It’s been a full day of speeches, conversations, networking and info sessions here at the Oregon Active Transportation Summit. The event is a yearly effort to bring together Oregon’s transportation advocates to share and gain knowledge.
Tomorrow is the climax of the Summit when the few hundred attendees will take to the Capitol building to meet with legislators and explain why investments in biking, walking and transit are important.

I just see a whole lot of white people making decisions for everyone. Maybe they should involve more minorities

yes, maybe the white people should involve more minorities. read that back. okay, then the minorities will be engaged, but on the white people’s terms. or perhaps you have a concrete, constructive suggestion.
Not making decisions – trying to influence lawmakers for improvements in state transportation. This is Oregon which, according to 2010 census data is 84% white. Feel guilty about ethnic geography if you want but it doesn’t help improve transportation policy for anyone.
Hasn’t anyone jumped up onto a table and given a speech yet???
“dude” is just a jackass with nothing productive to contribute. It’s easy to piss and moan and then do nothing about it.
Like always, good reporting Mr. Maus.
