Kidical Mass November will be the “Tour de Pie”

This just in from Kidical Mass Headquarters…. Full details on this month’s ride (which happens on Sat, 11/20):

Family Fun Bike Ride Plans Tour de Pie

Portland, OR — November 9, 2010 — The Thanksgiving holiday is all about gathering with friends and family, giving thanks for our blessings, and eating pie. Lots of pie. Portland’s monthly family fun bike ride will celebrate these traditions with a “Tour de Pie” in close-in SE.

The Kidical Mass Tour de Pie will be a rolling exploration of southeast Portland’s pie establishments. Stops are not yet finalized, but will likely include pizza pie, fried pie, and of course the traditional baked-in-a-flaky-crust pumpkin pie.

Unlike their controversial namesake, Kidical Mass rides are “conspicuously legal,” according to ride co-organizer Katie Proctor. “Riding in groups is a safe way to teach kids the rules of the road,” says Proctor. “We can’t achieve that by running stop signs.”

Kidical Mass is a monthly event with fun as its primary objective. The ride rotates its starting point around the city with a different theme and destination each month.

Families of all ages, on bikes of all sorts, are welcome at the Kidical Mass ride. The ride will meet at the Ladd’s Circle Park on Saturday, 20 November 2010 at 2:45 pm. It will go about 3 miles, travel at the speed of its slowest riders, and will be a loop. The ride will proceed rain or shine. Participants should bring a few dollars each to pay for sweet and savory treats.
