I hope you’ll join us tonight at Radio Room (1101 NE Alberta) for our August Get Together.

This will be a great chance to meet new people, learn about what’s going on in the local bike scene, and share your experiences about riding/living/working in Northeast Portland. Everyone is invited to either come and listen, mingle, or share whatever you’re up to in the world of bikes.

Here’s the basic rundown of how the night will go.

5:30 – Show up, mingle (I’ll help introduce you to people if you don’t know anyone), and order food/drinks if you’d like (full menu available).
6:00 – I’ll lead a discussion about bike issues in inner NE Portland*.
6:30 – People will take the floor and share their expertise, promote their bike event/business, etc…
7:00 – Open it back up for socializing.

*Some issues I’d like to talk hear from you about are; riding on Alberta, carfree Last Thursday, Good bike routes through inner NE, barriers to riding in the area, and so on. Bring your ideas to add to the conversation.

Would so love to be there. It’s on my way home. But alas, I have other engagements in NW tonight.

… if I were there, I’d bring up the subject that there’s no good E-W routes through NE north of Tillamook. I choose Prescott as my route from MLK because it has very few interruptions, but I know it makes nearly all my other workmates queasy to ride in its narrow lane between MLK and 33rd. Would love to see the Going St. bike boulevard project get green lighted.

I thought that the Going St Blvd got the green light, and is on it’s way. I’d like to see something north of Going (Maybe Ainsworth/ Holman/ Dekum.)

I also think that a north/ south route got funding near 27th, 28th, 29th. I’d love something north/ south between the upper 20s and Vancouver/ Williams (Maybe 9th or 13th or something?)

I wish I could be there but I am attending a cross training at Alpenrose. Perhaps next time. I seem to be busy whenever you have these, I am sorry to have missed the SE one and now this one.

Thanks still for holding them and for sharing some synopsis of the discussion after.

Sorry that I can’t make it, end up working late and have to get home to take care of other business.

Among NE bike issues….personally, I would like to see Holman turned into a Bike Boulevard along with Going.

Hope you had a blast!

For those that missed it, the event was fun and inspiring. Cool to meet some of the faces behind the names. The representation from the city (Greg Raisman and Roger Geller) covered some plans for improved infrastructure coming to NE.
