I’m trying to do a Century ride on Saturday…

So, If you want to join a slow (round 12 mph), long bike ride on Saturday… Traveling from Beaverton, up and over the West Hills, through Portland, into Vancouver, down 205, out to the end of pavement on the Springwater Trail (and back), you’re invited!

I’m open to suggestions on the route through Portland, but we’ll need to cross the Interstate bridge, and ugh… the Glen Jackson. Frequent stops are acceptable, and I’m thinking of packing kinda light due to the forecasted good weather, so food stops will be made on the trip (and might involve a fast food joint or two [or a new seasons]).

Plan on meeting at 8:30am on Saturday at the Beaverton Transit Center, at the bike racks near the MAX tracks. We ride at 9am, and get back when we do. Can’t ride the full way, that’s Ok. Want to go fast and leave us behind, that’s Ok too.

Don’t forget to charge your camera batteries.

My sweetie and I are enjoying a morning and afternoon of errands and social calls, all done by bicycle. (Yippee!) Tomorrow, I’m doing a bakery ride with friends.

Started the weekend by swinging by the Showers Pass team kick-off party on my way home from work – saw quite a few people I knew there. Today (Saturday) I treated myself to some Pete’s Mountain repeats (ride to mountain, ride up, over and around mountain 5 times, ride home). 93+ miles, 7755 ft elevation gain. Fun times. Saw quite a few other cyclists in the area, taking advantage of good weather. Tomorrow will be a shorter, flatter ride with friends.

Rode both Saturday and Sunday, nothing extreme……… except for the driver of the Dodge Durango (OR Lic # YDS 956) who intentionally ran into me because he doesn’t believe bikes should be on HIS road. Moron alert!

Did a loop from inner SE up to Marine Drive and UofPortland yesterday. The wind was crazy!

Today, had two pals over and we had a pain-fest on the trainers while watching the last stage of the Tour of Calif.

Pulled it off… My First Century!

Joined by forums members, The Wumpus, and ZPL, I was able to battle the absolutly awful headwinds and made the loop that I had planned out for the trip.

Many Thanks go to ZPL and The Wumpus for the support!

I didn’t actually get to ride this weekend, but my wife got me a Surly Crosscheck frame for my birthday (I guess she loves me a little bit.) As always it was a good weekend.
