Among the alternatives being considered are streetcar in the existing rail right-of-way, streetcar along Macadam, and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) along Macadam. @ Mt. Tabor Park, Picnic Area A

The main issues are the interactions between cyclists and pedestrians.

The bike races are not the issue.

For cyclists who use Mt. Tabor, your attendance in important to talk about how to minimize conflict between park user groups and to help balance any perception that cyclists are acting in an irresponsible fashion.

Snacks are available at 5:30 and the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m..

The meeting will be facilitated by a range of community and city stakeholders including Portland Parks and Rec, Police Bureau, and PDOT.

The Portland Parks and Recreation Department, the Office of Transportation and the Police Bureau have officially announced a community meeting to address, “increasing concerns about high speeds and close calls,” at Mt. Tabor Park.

The issue has been simmering since April and originated from concerned neighbors and the Mt. Tabor Foot Patrol. They’ve noticed a problem of speeding in the park, especially on Wednesdays when it is closed to cars and bicyclists and pedestrians share the hilly roads.
