Hold on to your helmets folks, tomorrow is the start of three days of Bike to Work events.
It all kicks off with PDOT’s famous (and historical) Bike to Work Day Breakfast in Pioneer Courthouse Square. It’ll be a big party, with tons of fellow commuters, scrambled eggs, and oh so much more.
You can join a guided ride into downtown from various points around the city. In addition to PDOT’s official rides, BikePortland readers have offered to lead a few rides of their own. Read the updates to this story for more details.
If you’re new to bike commuting, you’ll want to check out PDOT’s Bike Commuting Basics class. The class is part of their Portland By Cycle series running in conjunction with their ongoing SmartTrips Southeast program. Go here for all the details.

Then, on Thursday (5/17) PDOT continues their Bicycle Brown Bag discussion series with a chat about how to bike to work in style. And, in honor of Pedalpalooza coming next month, they’ll offer tips on organizing a bike-fun event. Here are all the details.
The week ends with a morning bike commuter party at Oregon Park near the Lloyd Center. The folks over at the Lloyd Transportation Management Association (Lloyd TMA) always put on a good party.
They’ll have free breakfast, bike tune-ups, massages, lots of great door prizes, and you’ll be treated to short speeches from Transportation Commissioner Sam Adams and from that guy who started BikePortland.org. Should be fun. Here are the details:

When’s the Walk-to-Work day?
Dang. Work starts at 0700. Somebody party for me!
if if bike to school, does that count towards a free breakfast bite?
hungry: doesn’t matter where or why, only that you’re on a bike.
Bike.Portland.org? Who started that? …nver heard of it….
Damn. I forgot about this and biked straight to work. Lucky for me, I work at Oregon Square, so I won’t miss the main event =D
