Bicycle Film Festival announces Portland stop
The Bicycle Film Festival (not to be confused with Portland’s own Filmed by Bike) has chosen Portland as one of the cities it will visit in 2007. The event is scheduled for September 5-8th.
Police will join cyclists on Master Plan ride
As part of the Bicycle Master Plan update process, city bike coordinator Roger Geller is leading monthly rides to survey what works and what doesn’t in our existing bikeway network.
Nike, Trek end relationship, future consumer offerings "uncertain"
Earlier this morning, I reported that Nike (whose world headquarters are just a few miles from Portland) had “dropped” their entire line of cycling gear and clothing.

Update on bike parking during bus mall project
As many of you know, the downtown bus mall is currently under major re-construction. I’ve had several readers wonder what the plans are for bike parking, both during the upheaval and once it’s complete.
How was your weekend?
We had all sorts of weather this weekend; crisp breezes, warm sun, stormy skies, and even some torrential rain. I hope you got a chance to get some riding in.
On Saturday, messengers held some “Tests of Strength” and artist and Bike Haiku stationery maker Carye Bye did one of her famous museum-by-bike rides.
I explored Rocky Butte Nature Park for the first time. My girls and I had a great hike through meadows and mini-forests and I saw a few mountain bikers enjoying the trails.
Business forum will focus on Portland’s bike industry
As part of their Ambassadors Program, the Portland Development Commission will hold a forum to introduce Portland’s bicycle industry to the business community.
