Cyclocross takes center stage this weekend

[Expect more big crowds
at Hillsboro this weekend.]

This Sunday the eyes of the cyclocross world will be set on Hillsboro Stadium (just a few miles west of Portland).

Racers and media from all over the country will compete in the sixth race of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross. The series has made previous stops in Massachusetts, Colorado, and Washington and is expected to draw huge crowds.

The race will take place on the same course that hosted the Cross Crusade earlier in the season. I ran into race promoter Brad Ross last night and he said he expects over 900 racers to compete. Should be a fantastic event.

Also on Sunday is the Cross Crusade Awards Party. This is sure to be a raucous affair with racers, fans and organizers celebrating yet another stellar year of cross racing.

The Crusade may be over, but there’s still some racing left. Mark your calendars for Kruger’s Crossing, coming to Sauvie Island on December 3rd.
