Zoobomb pile stolen and dumped in the river?

I’m not sure if this is an April Fools prank or the real thing, but this message has just been posted in the Zoobomb forum:

“Your “Zoo Run” is over!!!! your bikes are gone. You can forget about them. They didn’t float. The whole thing is tired and you should all get jobs or do something productive. We are all sick of you and your lame shinanagans. Give it up. You are a traffic hazard and a threat to safety. Stop before you kill someone. You just suck!!!!!!

Sincerely,
FED UP!!!”

And here’s the reaction from a veteran Zoobomber:

“Some redneck bikefun hater has stolen the (in)famous Zoobomb bike pile and (apparentely) dumped the mini bikes in the Willamete river. For those who don’t know, the bike pile consists of mini bikes that zoobombers build/donate/take care, so anyone can ride them down the west hills on Sunday nights. We’ve been accused many times of causing trouble, but the fact is that we don’t mess up with people’s s$#%, we pack our trash and so on, and this is just one more episode when some emotionally challenged idiot try to make “justice’ with their own hands and causing us damage. Of course, we won’t stop and, hopefully, this will just make us stronger.”

You can read more reaction on the Zoobomb forum.
Here’s the Wikipedia entry for “Zoobomb”.

I hope this is all a funny joke, but even if it’s not, the Zoobombers are much more than a few bikes in a pile and they will come back even stronger than before.

Too bad little bikes are so hard to find, where o where will be find new bikes?
Oh wait…everywhere, there are bikes all over, I guess ZooBomb wins after all and the unincludarino loses.

Last night we bombed, as usual and, as usual, had great fun. There is a brand new pile with all working bikes ready to be bombed.

This tactic of trying to stop us is so old. Portland police tried in the past and I haven’t heard of a Sunday night when there where no Bombers enjoying the good old gravity.

It appears to me, that on top of charges of theft, a huge littering charge would be applied on top of this.
As we all know, stealing locked bikes takes a theif, and thieves are stupid.
I am sure someone will boast to someone else about pulling this off.
It will take a nation of millions to bring us down…

Wow, people with extra hate will do anything!

Is this someone’s idea of being an activist for their cause?

Or someone who thinks it’s impossible to ride a bike and be gainfully employed?

Or just some moron who can’t spell shenanigans?
