I ride this bike everywhere. Whether it is to school, work, or long bike rides at the beach it gets me to where i need to be. Handles are amazing and brakes are highly responsive. Not too heavy and is flashy at the same time. It was so worth it.

I just recently bought this bike from the AWESOME guys at Performance and I couldn’t ask for a better single speed. It handles really well, it’s pretty light, and is quite comfortable, even over some more bumpy landscape.

The color is what really hooked me. It’s such a classy, simple design–I love it! It’s super lightweight–I weigh 100 lbs. and I can easily carry it on my shoulder up a few flights of stairs. Surprisingly, it does very well on the pot-hole streets of New Orleans. I ride it to the grocery, downtown, and to school. It feels very safe–I don’t plan on breaking my jaw again. The seat might need to be replaced soon–for female comfort, but otherwise, I plan on using this bike for as long as it lasts. It’s a solid bike–and a bargain!

I bought this in the Downtown Portland store and for my first (adult) single speed, this was beyond my expectations. I can’t stop riding her (fnar fnar). It’s fairly light (lighter than my Trek 7000 Aluminum) and getting up some fair steep hills, it was pretty light work. Components may not be highest quality and will see how she fairs in 6 months time.

It’s an awesome starter bike. Great frame and fork set up for the price, very easy to upgrade parts for fixed gear riding and if you can get this bike as a sale item, I’d have to say it’s money well invested.
I’ve converted mine as a fixed gear, chopped the bars 4″ total, upgraded to 44t Sugino cranks, 17t fixed cog and 700c x 23 deep Vs from an old bike and presto….decent daily commuter / looker.

A fun to ride single speed, even on my commute. I’ve been riding this 2-3 days a week since July on my 8.5 mile commute with no issues. A super bargain at this price point. Only upgrades I made were new grips and a Forte seat. Fast and smooth to ride on the flats, and OK for climbing short or gradual hills. A perfect entry level single speed bike.

I own some nicer bikes — a Surly LHT, for one — but I wanted a bike I could lock at a bike rack and leave for a while and not worry about. And I thought a single speed might be fun for a change. By the time I added up the cost + hassle of making a single speed out of an old steel frame, the <$200 this bike cost seemed well worth it. It rides just fine, I don't worry about anything when riding it, it's just a utility bike, and for that purpose it works perfectly.
OK, it did come with a ridiculous plastic chain guard that lasted just until I got home.
I think maybe over time I might want some nicer wheels, etc. but keep in mind that this bike's low-end components are light-years ahead of what I was riding 20 years ago, and I know any number of people single-speeding old 10-speeds.
Anyway, I'm having fun with the bike; ridden a hundred miles or so, no problems.
And — like the other reviewer — I like the color.

I've had the SE Draft for three months now and it's more than I expected at this price point. I ride this bike two or more days per week on my 8.5 mile commute and haven't had a single issue. Except for upgrading the seat and bar grips, it's 100% stock and needs nothing. The perfect choice for the first time Single Speed buyer.
