CCC Bike of the Month – April

community cycling center

This is a monthly feature to remind you that when you buy a used bike from the Community Cycling Center’s retail shop (1700 NE Alberta) you are not just getting a cool bike, you’re also helping fund their amazing education programs for low-income youth and adults.

This nearly new, 17-inch Novara Fusion was kept in excellent condition by its previous owner. It will make a bicycle commuter very happy with its many commuter-friendly features.

It is a great year-round bicycle with everything from full fenders to a Shimano 8-speed internal hub. Other great features include double headlights for maximum visibility, heavy-duty rack for groceries or work clothes, drum brakes for all-weather stopping, and a suspension seat post for comfort.

The dual headlights are cleverly designed with both a battery-powered light with bar-mounted on/off switch and a hub-generated light with an automatic sensor. Once the sun starts to set you can see and be seen with the flick of a switch.

This will be a great around-town bicycle for someone serious about comfort and visibility. It would even suit a beginning bicyclist, with its many easy-to-use features.

This bike would be very compatible with the Community Cycling Center’s new Women’s Urban Cycling class. The next class is scheduled to begin on Wednesday April 23 from 7-9pm.

Proceeds from all bike sales benefit programs for low-income youth and adults. Bike Clubs start this week at 18 local schools!

Thanks, Jonathan!

And thanks to the volunteers who helped with the move the other day. We are getting settled into our new office on MLK at Shaver (we\’ll have an open house sometime this summer). Plus, our shop is also going to have a little makeover now that nine people aren\’t squeezed into the bike shop. It\’s all courtesy of that crazy accident in December when a truck hit our bike shop.

Here\’s to making lemonade!
