At 11 a.m., a bevy of bigwigs will officially open a new 3/8 mile path located adjacent to the recently completed Swan Island Pump Station.

Scheduled to appear at the event are Portland City Commissioner Sam Adams, Environmental Services Director Dean Marriott, Swan Island Transportation Management Association Project Manager Lenny Anderson, and Portland Parks & Recreation Trail Planner Gregg Everhart.

I'm a little confused as to how the heck one is supposed to even get onto Swan Island on a bike. I understand Greely has a bike lane but it would seem to be a lot of sidewalk riding or riding in the lane with a LOT of huge trucks.

    Someone want to explain?
