  • This ride incorporated a trip on the MAX Train, postcard views, karaoke, pints at McMenamin’s…whew. Just read Carye Bye’s report for all the details…

“A mid-week Pedalpalooza Bike Ride up to crown point Vista House in the Columbia River Gorge drew 9 cyclists under Karaoke Kiran (Bonojovi) leadership and a microphone. Some slow tough riding up but well worth it with the “Elevation” and “Vertigo.”

As the only female on the ride, I represented at the Women’s Forum view point stop. At our destination, the newly reopened Vista House, we loved our bicycle parking spot, the bicycle postcards, and the view.

On the way back, a stop in Corbett to mail postcards brought on a dual bike* “I will Follow” down main street while folks fixed trucks and three little boys on bikes cheered (and I fulfilled my dream of singing U2’s I will follow” Karaoke.) We weren’t done yet, and headed to Edgefield in Troutdale for pints and then long bike ride back to Portland down Halsey & Tillamook.

Whew! The Vertigo was Free.*Okay imagine Kiran on one bike with the Karaoke machine in his trailer, and me on another bike holding the microphone biking down the main road side by side singing “If you walkaway walkaway, I will foll-ow..”
