Donuts, tacos, pad thai, whew…Pedalpalooza is quite the multicultural culinary experience!

According to ride leader Ben Salzberg, it was more of a “taco mob” with around 30 people showing up for the taco feast. Here’s the great report from Ben:
Last year Metro and Cycle Oregon teamed up to host a bike ride from the Eastbank Esplanade to Champoeg State Park. They informally called it the “Policymakers Ride”. It was an invite-only affair to showcase a future Portland-to-Champoeg leg of Oregon State Parks’ Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway Route.
On the ride were all sorts of bike and transportation bigwigs including former Mayor Bud Clark and reps from Metro, Oregon Parks and Recreation, BTA, PDOT, and others.
Geoff Greene is a former mechanic (he wrenched at the CCC for 3 1/2 years) and bikey entrepreneur who is now a Re/Max real estate agent.
The 33 year old, who is known as “the Schwinn Guy” by most of his friends, has woven his love of bikes with his new profession in typical Portland style.
You might have seen him at any number of events lately (here he is at the Alberta Art Hop last month), riding his CycleTruck cargo bike full of free freezee pops and patch kits.
Geoff was the man behind CycleTruck (see one in action) but has moved on from that business to focus on real estate.

[Pedalpalooza runs from 6/8 – 6/24 and is organized by Shift to Bikes. View the full schedule here and get the latest ride reports here.]
Today we’ve got our first mountain bike, off-road event. Join PUMP tonight for a ride and BBQ up at Skyline Tavern.
