Bike Gallery is throwing their weight behind a fundraiser for the Glenhaven BMX and Skate Park. The park, scheduled to be built later this summer, will be located in Northeast Portland (82nd and Siskiyou).

On June 8th Bike Gallery will host a showing of, “Joe Kid on a Sting-Ray: The History of BMX” at the Bagdad Theater (3702 SE Hawthorne). According to Bike Gallery rep Barb Grover, every cent of the money raised will go to the park:

“We believe it’s important for kids and the young-at-heart to have access to recreational opportunities. Knowing that city funds are in short supply we want to support the local BMX community by helping them raise money for this new park.”

The park will the first of 19 new BMX and skate parks that will be built throughout the city.

Don’t miss the killer raffle which will include a couple BMX bikes! Tickets are $12 for general admission and $25 for VIP Passes. For more information check out the “Bucks for BMX” page at BikeGallery.com.

I've seen this movie and it's freakin' awesome! If you are a BMX'er, mountainbiker, or general riding enthusiast, I encourage you to check out this show.
