Reward: $50
Description: The bike is super tiny and has a 22′ wheel in the front and 26′ in the back, which makes it pretty easily identified. It also has a poorly attached light on the front which flops around a lot. The pedals are really sharp and always cut up my leg. Basically if you stole this bike you’re going to be disappointed with it, unless you’re very short and like getting your leg cut up.

Woman arrested after stop sign violation, question about ID
A woman was handcuffed and placed under arrest this morning after she was stopped for running the stop sign at NE Flint and Broadway when she asked the police officer if she was required to show identification. She was subsequently issued a citation and released.
Jessica Jarratt, 37, the executive director of an arts funding nonprofit, was commuting from her Northeast Portland home to her office in the Pearl this morning around 9:00am. In a phone interview this afternoon, she described being stopped by a police officer at Flint and Broadway, along with several other people on bikes, after she had turned right onto Broadway from Flint without coming to a complete stop.

Locally developed iPhone app keeps track of important bike info
An iPhone app just released yesterday could be a great tool in the war on bike theft. “Bike Quiver” was created by David Ross, an independent software developer who lives (and rides) in Portland.
A serial number is the most important piece of information you’ll need to prove to the police that a stolen bike is yours. The idea behind the app is to make it easier to document and retrieve that number. Bike Quiver lets you create profiles for each of your bikes that can include the all-important serial number, a photo and other vitals. Another cool feature is a section where you can keep up a maintenance log for your bike.
Last year, we profiled another locally created iPhone app called “Cychosis” developed by North Porlander Ron Forrester.
Bike Quiver sells for 99 cents in Apple’s iTunes App Store. Learn more at BikeQuiver.com.
Is this thing hot? What to do if you think you’ve found a stolen bike
(Photo © J. Maus)
So you’ve seen a nervous-looking young guy riding a too-small high-end racing bike down the street with shoes that definitely don’t match the clips. Or maybe you found a bike stashed behind your garage. Or your friend saw your long-lost steed locked to a pole downtown. What’s the right thing to do? Should you call the police? Can you keep a bike you find? If someone finds your bike, how do you prove it’s yours?
We get emails from readers with these questions at least once a week. We haven’t had good answers (besides directing folks to our stolen bike listings), so we asked Portland Police Officer (and occasional BikePortland contributor) Robert Pickett for his advice on what to do if you’ve found a bike that you think might be stolen.

Series of web videos help explain CRC project
presentation on alternatives to
the 12-lane CRC.
– Watch below-
With the BTA flexing some muscle on the Columbia River Crossing project and a grassroots effort in opposition to a 12-lane bridge by Rising Tide Cascadia well under way, some of you might be curious about what other alternatives exist.
Nick Falbo is a Portland-based video game designer who is currently pursuing a degree in urban planning from Portland State University. Falbo is also a friend of Spencer Boomhower, whom you might recall as the artist/activist behind an excellent animated explanation of the Idaho Stop Law we first shared back in April.
