Remember the gas tax increase Portlanders voted in favor of back in May? Now the first project is ready to happen and PBOT is (rather wisely) adding some pomp and circumstance to it. Check the release below for an event in southeast Portland on Monday:
Chip in and we could be riding trails in a matter of months.
All systems go on this big project. Finally!
Leave those busy roads in Troutdale far behind.
Perhaps more should be done to prevent this?
At long last, Flanders will see its potential as a bike street realized.
Alternate routes include the Ross Island and Hawthorne bridges via paths on both sides of the river.
This is sort of a big deal.
Hopefully someday it’ll happen without being triggered by a citizen.
It’s the cheapest “bridge” project ever completed in the Portland region.
Portland streets are evolving right before our eyes.
