Operate a free pedicab shuttle alongside the largest bike valet in North America!
Go By Bike is seeking a friendly, reliable pedicab operator to join our team in Portland’s South Waterfront neighborhood, located under the aerial tram. Our mission is simple: provide the best possible start and end to people’s daily commutes.
About Go By Bike
Go By Bike operates several services that support thousands of Portland commuters each year, including:
– A free pedicab shuttle providing rides along S Moody Ave. to and from the aerial tram
– The largest bike valet in North America, keeping hundreds of bikes secure throughout the day
– Bike repair services, from flat fixes to full tune-ups
– A bike loaner program operated on behalf of Oregon Health & Science University
The Role
The Pedicab Operator provides safe, efficient, and friendly rides on our electric-assist pedicab for commuters traveling between the tram and nearby workplaces.
Most of the shift is spent outdoors, either operating the pedicab or assisting customers nearby.
Responsibilities include:
– Operating the electric-assist pedicab safely and courteously
– Providing excellent customer service to riders and commuters
– Monitoring pedicab condition and reporting maintenance issues promptly
– Occasionally assisting with bike valet duties, including parking and retrieving bikes
– Representing Go By Bike with a positive and welcoming attitude
Work Environment
This position is primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. The majority of the shift is spent sitting on or standing next to the pedicab while assisting riders
Schedule & Compensation
– $20.50/hour
– 20 hours per week
– Monday through Friday, 3:00pm – 7:00pm
– Part-time, year-round
– Opportunities to pick up additional shifts
