Bikes Make Life Better designs and operates world-class bicycle programs for large organizations that have a strong commitment to sustainable transportation. Our clients include some of the world’s most innovative and influential companies.

We are looking for a Bike Consultant/Project Manager who will be a member of our home office team, guiding and supporting key client projects and the continued growth of the company. While the role includes well-defined core responsibilities, it will evolve with the right candidate.

Core responsibilities include:

Bike Parking Facilities Planning & Design (known in the industry as EOT or end-of-trip facilities)

Project manage EOT work from start to finish
Work with clients to determine EOT needs, provide technical expertise, timing and budget parameters
Provide input into proposals, time estimates and pricing
Do on-site visits and take measurements where needed
Create new and review existing plans and provide input and/or revised layouts
Collaborate, draft and edit EOT reports
Consult with clients on all aspects of EOT
Stay abreast of EOT best practices, including products, materials and facility design
Research & Consulting

Project manage consulting projects from start to finish
Contribute content and input to consulting projects managed by other staff
Help scope client needs, timing and budget parameters
Provide input into proposals, time estimate and pricing
Do research, planning, consulting per client agreements
Write and edit reports
Stay abreast of best practices in micro mobility, bike and scooter share, e-bikes, bike infrastructure trends and other relevant topics
Internal Support

Work collaboratively within a team of diverse talent to meet company and client objectives
Support client bike events such as Bike-to-Work Day, safety clinics, bike fairs, demo days, as needed
Help define strategic growth of the company
Minimum qualifications include:

Bachelor’s Degree
3-5 years experience in a similar role
Proven ability to manage and lead a variety of projects
Friendly and customer service-driven
Good time management, budget management and multi-tasking skills
Team player with good communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate within teams, especially in a remote and dispersed work environment
Experienced with MS Suite and Google Suite
Willingness and ability to work from a home office
Bonus points for the following:

Bike, bike hardware, bike share, and EOT knowledge (or an aptitude/willingness to learn)
Knowledge of planning principles, especially related to bikes, micro mobility and shared mobility
Able to understand and evaluate site plans as well as street plans
Proven track record of delivering projects/tasks on time and juggling/prioritizing
Ability to collect and analyze data, making sense of it for the team and clients
Experience designing and leading presentations and creating professional reports
Experience with geospatial analysis and cartography, including GIS software and Adobe Illustrator
Experience with model-building software, namely Sketchup
Experience with project/task management software and using it for team coordination, including Asana, Slack and Google Drive

Supervision:

The Bike Consultant/Project Manager position is an employee of Bikes Make Life Better, Inc. and will report directly to Kurt Martin or Amy Harcourt, founders of Bikes Make Life Better.
